Postgraduate Taught
This is a one-year course for students who want to learn new skills or improve the skills they have learnt during an Undergraduate degree.
The Postgraduate Taught degree leads to a Masters
qualification such as MA, MSc or MEng.
Typically consists of an 8-month taught and a 4-month
project phase.
The Masters course provides an excellent foundation for
research degrees.
Most courses start in September, though some start in
January/February.
IELTS requirement is 6.0/6.5 depending on the University
and the course.

Postgraduate Research
The UK has an impressive range of research facilities. Research degrees are available at the following levels:
The highest level is the PhD (doctoral) and usually takes
between 3 to 4 years to complete. You can choose to do a
traditional PhD or an integrated PhD. The traditional option
involves a substantial amount of project work resulting in a
thesis. The integrated option has a greater taught element
and less emphasis on project work.
The MPhil is a two-year research degree and leads to the
qualification of Master of Philosophy.
Unlike taught courses the student can start a research degree anytime. IELTS requirement is 6.0/6.5 depending on the University and area of research.
